The new change of guard follows retirement of professor Paul Wainaina who has retired as his term comes to an end.Prof Wainaina steered the University in turbulent waters which saw him collide with state making him a darling of the students who stood with him and saw his reinstalling by court.
Professor John Okumu has promised to see through the University in reforms and academic excellence in shaping the destiny of thousands of students at Kenyatta university.
Okumu was installed in a glamorous function at the University graduation grounds on Friday attended by ministry of education officials.
